Here's a selection of screen shots of my print designs which made up my final university collection.
Drawings - Designs...
2. Repeated to make a flower shape, layered with another design to visualise the arrangment
3. Created a stencil with laser cut vinyl so I could heat press this onto my digitally printed fabrc, handpaint devore, within the outline, to burn away the viscose - exposing the silk to be handpainted with acid dyes
4. The same shape laser cut in a delicate design and heat pressed onto silk creating a contrasting surface texture.
1. Inspiring image of Argus Pheasant feathers
2. Original drawing
3. Manipulated on Photoshop to create a repeat pattern
4. And then digitally printed onto fabric in such a way, that when the fabric is pleated only parts of the design is exposed - like how real bird plumage overlaps.
1. Inspiring image 2. Original drawing 3. Repeat pattern created in Photoshop
4. The pattern cut in heat transfer vinyl using a laser cutter. The vinyl rings are holding a second piece of dyed fabric into place
5. and 6. are versions of the same design which allow for different screen prints.
